My friend and I decided to do afternoon tea as a celebration. We decided to give the afternoon tea at the fairmont pacific rim a visit, as the Asian inspired items intrigued us.
It was my 19th Birthday and of course, I had to have afternoon tea! I saved Shangri-la afternoon tea for my birthday as it was a more pricier afternoon tea place, and I assumed that it would be more fancier than other places. We made reservations for 12:30 on a Sunday but the place was extremely empty. There was only one other table of two and one server. The server was wearing a really cute dress and was really kind, however since she was pretty much the only server at the time it was hard to get good service, it was pretty slow.
hooray for afternoon tea again! I made reservations for Adonia about a week in advance for a Saturday afternoon and I’m so glad I did! this place was packed when we arrived. I was very amazed by the interior of this tea house. It was vintage themed and looked like an old doll house(not a creepy one). I do have to say though, this tea house was extremely small. We were seated at a table to the side that was the size of a side table that sits next to your bed. It was a tad unconformable and cramped to be honest, but I guess it didn’t bother us very much since the place was very cute.
I haven’t been to afternoon tea for a while so, one day I decided to take my friend here. I’ve always wanted to come to Secret Garden since I heard that its one of the more popular afternoon tea places in Vancouver. While making reservations, they asked if anyone was a vegetarian and if we had any dietary restrictions which I appreciated since no other tea place that I been to ever asked that before. Kerrisdale is pretty far from when I live so I really hoped that the trek there would be worth it. We got there a bit early but we were seated right away, and the servers were professional. There is no menu since we made reservations for the full afternoon tea so we were only given the menu for tea, but you can find the seasonal menu on their website. While we were deciding on which tea to get, we also got a sample of their creamy earl grey which was delicious!
Being an afternoon tea addict I had to try this place! The thing that lured me in the most was the name, Neverland. What a charming name! It gave me memories of my childhood while watching peterpan. Anyways, I dragged my friend here all the way from Burnaby by public transportation and that was not very fun.. It took I would say 50 minutes to get to Neverland and I really hoped that it was worth the trek. We got off the bus stop and walked up the road to find the place, and it was not very hard to find. ‘Neverland tea salon’ was written in big enchanting gold letters outside the shop, I thought it was extremely beautiful! As we walked in on a Friday afternoon we realized that it was fully packed and were relieved that we made reservations. The interior decor and furnishings were very simple yet still elegant. I really loved the pink chairs that they had, I wish the whole store was filled with that pink chair instead of just a few ): Also A few of the workers seem to be a bit tired and grumpy, which kind of ruined the mood… but the others were nice and professional which was nice.
One day, I decided to take my friend here after seeing a 10% off coupon on umagazine and also seeing some pictures from instagram. Audrey’s Moment High Tea is the first high tea place in burnaby and is quite close to metrotown mall which makes it very convenient. We went on a Thursday afternoon and were the only people there at the time, and we were greeted by a kind and quiet waitress. We decided to both get the luxury high tea set which included a pot of tea worth $6.75 and a selection of savories and sweets on a three tier stand. They also had a smaller set which is called the signature set however it doesn’t include tea and I do not really think the smaller set is worth it. If you decide to get a high tea set, I recommend only getting the luxury tea set.
My friends and I decided to go to faubourg (the Kerrisdale location) for afternoon tea one day. I made reservations a few days in advance as I knew that tea places can be quite busy. I made reservations by email and it took about 24 hours for them to reply and confirm the reservation which was a bit longer then I thought it would take. I made reservations at 1:00 on a Monday and I didn’t really expect it be very busy. when we arrived I was shocked since the whole bakery and bistro was packed! The only table that was available was the table we had reserved so I really do recommend making reservations before coming here, or coming after 2:00 or 3:00 perhaps as it got quite empty while we were leaving the store.
