Dasarang Chicken

One day, I was craving for some korean fried chicken so my friends so I decided to try this place out. Dasarang Chicken is located a few blocks away from Lougheed mall in whats known as the “korea town”in metro Vancouver. This place seemed to be quite popular among young adults.

These are the side dishes we got at the start. The white looking dish is pickled radish. I’m usually not a big fan of this however it goes really well with fried foods because it helps cleanse the oily taste from the fried chicken. The other dish is a salad with shredded lettuce and I believe thousand island sauce. I liked these side dishes and it went very well with all the fried food too.

I really wanted to eat some authentic Japanese food and my friends and I were in Richmond one day so we decided to check gyo-o out as I have been keeping my eyes on this place for a while. Gyo-o is located in the Continental plaza a few blocks away from Aberdeen station and Aberdeen centre The restaurant was very busy and packed on a sunday during lunch time. The interior was very cute, there were wooden blocks on the walls with random Japanese writing on them. I decided to order whatever seemed popular on instagram and blog posts.

Meat & Bread is currently a very popular sandwich shop, I believe this is due to the fact that they were featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. After I watched that episode and after I heard people say that is was amazing, I really wanted to visit Meat & Bread. They currently have three locations in Vancouver. Their menu is very simple with only a few options. there is their famous porchetta, a daily special, and two other sandwiches.  The staff members were very polite and professional.

I really wanted to visit Kishimoto because it is currently one of the most popular sushi restaurants in town and I was curious to see why. My friend and I arrived at around 6:00 and there were a few tables ahead of us so it was probably a 20 minute wait. The place was hot and humid as there was no air conditioning and it didn’t help that the place was small and cramped with people.

Joe Fortes is somewhere I have been longing to go to for a long long time. I believe this is one of the more popular places for oysters, and raw oysters is my favorite food ever so I couldn’t wait to try this place! For happy hour only though since non happy hour is too pricey for me currently. Happy hour is from 4-6pm everyday at the bar area, and I believe the patio area too in the summer. They have buck a shuck (oysters for $1 each) and items such as onions rings, calamari, and many others.

There were so many positive reviews on this place, and it seemed to be very popular so I decided to take my friend here to eat one day. I’ve heard that people had to wait 30-60 minutes for a table so I decided to come at the random time at 4:00 on a Friday which seemed to be a good choice as the wait was perhaps only 5 minutes.

My friends and I were really hungry one day so we randomly came across this restaurant and decided to try this place because it seemed like it was the cheapest option and my friend was being really cheap. Another reason why we chose this place was becuase it had the shortest line up at the time and we were getting extremely hungry.
