I have longed to go to Pink sugar cafe for a while, and finally got a chance to venture into this little cafe. This cafe is known for their daily lunch set, which is Japanese styled. It is located in a small plaza across the street from Henderson place. I usually take pictures of the individual dishes but I guess I was too excited to do that this time.
One day, I was craving for some korean fried chicken so my friends so I decided to try this place out. Dasarang Chicken is located a few blocks away from Lougheed mall in whats known as the “korea town”in metro Vancouver. This place seemed to be quite popular among young adults.
These are the side dishes we got at the start. The white looking dish is pickled radish. I’m usually not a big fan of this however it goes really well with fried foods because it helps cleanse the oily taste from the fried chicken. The other dish is a salad with shredded lettuce and I believe thousand island sauce. I liked these side dishes and it went very well with all the fried food too.
These days a lot of soft serve ice cream places have been opening up, how exciting! UYU Ice cream opened up several months ago. I really adore the name of this place, UYU means milk in Korean. they carry two flavours that rotate every 2 weeks plus a milk flavour that is always available. I suggest looking on Instagram for their current available flavours. The flavour that was available when I visited was Vietnamese Coffee and some other flavour I wasn’t particularly interested in. With each soft serve there is a choice of a free drizzle and you can add toppings to it with an additional cost. However the toppings seem like healthy choice toppings as the were mostly dried fruit and nuts. When I eat ice cream I’m not looking for healthy stuff, so I opted out of course.
I was searching for a restaurant to eat at for lunch in Richmond so of course I pulled out my handy dandy zomato app. I saw Guu richmond listed on the app so I decided to check this location out since I’ve been to a few of their other locations. Guu Richmond was in a corner on the 2nd floor of Aberdeen. It was really tucked away and hidden, We wondered how they got customers. I was really interested in the ‘Special Lunch Set’ which came with 3 kinds of seafood don and a mini udon for the price of $9.80. It also came with a mini macaroni salad which I found extremely tasteless, but I thought it was a cute addition and didn’t care much since the lunch set was a really cheap price anyways.
